360 Snap

Your records. Fully in view. Right in your grid.

What is 360 Viewer?

360 Viewer lets you see everything about a Salesforce record, its details and related lists without ever leaving the Wave Grid. One click opens a clean panel with the full picture, ready to view and edit.

"360 Viewer" refers to the feature and its configuration. "360 View" refers to the panel that opens at runtime when a user accesses a record.

Key Concept of 360 Snap

A 360 Snap is the configuration that defines what appears in a 360 View panel; the header fields and related lists for a specific Salesforce object.

Snaps are global and shared by object. A snap created for the Account object is available to any grid or lookup field that references Account. All snaps are created and managed from Wave Admin → 360 Viewer.

A practical example

Imagine you have a Contacts grid. The grid uses Contact as its object, and has an Account lookup field.

Both snaps is available in Wave Admin. Each grid or lookup field simply picks which snap to use.

Setting Up 360 Snap

1

Create a 360 Snap in Wave Admin

Go to Wave Admin → 360 Viewer and click + New Snap. Give it a name and select the Salesforce object it applies to.

2

Configure the Header

The header shows key fields at the top of the 360 View panel. Add up to 6 fields — they display in a 3-column layout.

Single Row toggle

On (default)

First row of fields shown. A Show All button to reveal the rest.

Off

All fields shown immediately across multiple rows.

3

Related lists are the tabs in the left panel of the 360 View. They let users see and work with child records (like Opportunities or Cases) without leaving the grid.

Click + Add New, choose a child relationship, then select how to power it:

info

Drag to reorder related lists. The order here is the tab order in the 360 View panel. Click Save when done.

4

Assign the Snap to Your Grid

A saved snap does nothing until it is assigned to a grid or lookup field. Assign it in the Grid Wizard.

For the self (current) record — Grid Details (Step 1)

In the 360 Experience section at the bottom of Grid Details, check Open in 360 Viewer and click Configure. The 360 Snaps popup opens showing all snaps for this grid's object. Select one and save.

info

For a lookup field — Fields Configuration (Step 2) - Optional

Open the Fields Configuration popup, find the lookup field, and click the 360 Viewer button in the Actions column. The 360 Snaps popup opens showing all snaps for that lookup field's object. Select one — or create a new snap if none exists yet.

Set Permissions in Grid Controls

The 360 Snap section in Grid Controls lets you decide what Standard users can do inside the 360 View panel for this grid.

Permission
What it controls

Allow editing records

Users can edit header fields and related list data inside the 360 View.

Allow adding and removing related list

Users can add or remove related list tabs at runtime.

Using the 360 View

When a Designer has set up a 360 Snap for your grid, here's what you can do.

Opening the 360 View

Click the row number / selection column icon to open the 360 View for that record.

Click or hover a lookup chip (e.g. an Account name in a Contacts grid) to open the 360 View for that related record.

Header

Key fields for the record. Click Show All to expand. Lookup fields open a search dropdown when clicked.

Related Lists

Tabs on the left, one per related list. Click a tab to view and work with those records on the right with the full grid toolbar available.

Editing and Saving

  • Edit header fields inline — text and number fields directly, lookup fields via a search dropdown.

  • Work with related list records using the full grid toolbar (Filters, Group, Mass Modifier, and more).

  • Click Save Changes in the title bar to save. A preview of all pending changes is shown before anything is committed.

  • Click Go Back to close the panel and return to your grid.

Managing Snaps in Wave Admin

Wave Admin → Settings → 360 Viewer is where all snaps live. From here you can create, edit, duplicate, or delete any snap across your org, for any object.

Action
What it does

Edit

Open the snap and update its header fields or related lists.

Duplicate

Copy a snap as a starting point for a new configuration. Gets a unique name automatically.

Delete

Remove the snap. If it is still assigned to a grid or matrix, a confirmation popup lists the affected components remove it from each one before deleting.
