# 360 Snap

Your records. Fully in 360 Snap. Right in your grid.

<h2 align="center">What is 360 Snap?</h2>

360 Snap lets you see everything about a Salesforce record, its details and related lists without ever leaving the Wave Grid. One click opens a clean panel with the full picture, ready to view and edit.

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2F5UDIHsLvyDWsTfp3ZW4D%2FLatest%20360%20Snaps.gif?alt=media&amp;token=a54e5fad-3eb7-4218-8aa2-8f2120854f3e" alt=""><figcaption><p>360 Snap</p></figcaption></figure>

* [x] **See the complete record**

  Header fields for the record are displayed in a structured layout, the information your team needs, right where they are.
* [x] **Work across related lists in one place**

  Opportunities, Cases, Contacts, and more are all accessible as tabs within the 360 Snap panel, with the full Wave Grid experience on each.
* [x] **Edit without switching context**

  Update field values, work with related records, and save changes all from within the panel. No navigation required.
* [x] **Fully configured by your Designer**

  Designers control exactly what appears in each 360 Snap which fields, which related lists, and what users are allowed to do. Standard users always see a curated, relevant experience.

<h2 align="center">Key Concept of 360 Snap</h2>

A 360 Snap is the configuration that defines what appears in a 360 Snap panel; the header fields and related lists for a specific Salesforce object.

Snaps are global and shared by object. A snap created for the Account object is available to any grid or lookup field that references Account. All snaps are created and managed from Wave Admin → 360 Snap.

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FuxgZv0C6Qhb2Zftw7z8r%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=53430f32-03ef-4a8f-8fcf-fb0bdce587fb" alt=""><figcaption><p>List view of 360 Snap</p></figcaption></figure>

### A practical example

Imagine you have a Contacts grid. The grid uses Contact as its object, and has an Account lookup field.

<table><thead><tr><th width="121" valign="top"></th><th width="133" valign="top">Snap object</th><th width="253" valign="top">Opened by</th><th valign="top">Snap assigned in</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td valign="top"><strong>Self record</strong></td><td valign="top">Contact snap</td><td valign="top">Row number / selection column icon</td><td valign="top">Grid Details (Step 1)</td></tr><tr><td valign="top"><strong>Lookup field</strong></td><td valign="top">Account snap</td><td valign="top">Account lookup chip in the grid</td><td valign="top">Fields Configuration (Step 2)</td></tr></tbody></table>

Both snaps is available in Wave Admin. Each grid or lookup field simply picks which snap to use.

{% hint style="warning" icon="info" %}
One snap can be reused across many grids. If you already have an Account snap set up, any grid with an Account lookup field can use it — no need to create a new one.
{% endhint %}

### Setting Up 360 Snap

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Create a 360 Snap in Wave Admin

Go to Wave Admin → 360 Snap and click + New Snap.

A short walkthrough introduces 360 Snap and shows how it behaves at runtime. A record is clicked in the grid, and a detail panel opens with the record's fields and related lists. Select **Get Started** button when you're ready to configure the Snap.

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FFeLSKsAsrIj9dUsCQ5gM%2FGet%20Started.gif?alt=media&amp;token=584cbbb7-5974-4209-83d9-287fdc74919f" alt=""><figcaption><p>Get Started</p></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Configure Detail Layout

Select the Object and enter a Snap Name (editable). The object determines what's available in each of the options below.

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FqK9tq4RZsQPaPIFPtSpG%2FName%20and%20Object.gif?alt=media&amp;token=966c2a86-4de3-4356-a23c-931cf370cbd6" alt=""><figcaption><p> Select Object and Enter Name</p></figcaption></figure>

Choose one of four ways to build the details layout:

* **Generate from page layout** - Select a page layout scoped to the chosen object. Its fields appear grouped by page layout section (for example, Contact Information), each shown as a removable tag. Uncheck a section or remove individual field tags to exclude them before saving.<br>

  <figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2F30Ds4b5M6zOv44aHQpuX%2FGenerate%20from%20page%20layout.gif?alt=media&amp;token=4ebeea8f-7094-488f-9e44-f93aad98cfb9" alt=""><figcaption><p>Generate from page layout<br></p></figcaption></figure>
* **Salesforce List View** - Select a list view scoped to the object; the fields it will add are listed for review. If the object has no list views, you'll see No results found.<br>

  <figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FEAwC239JJmlaQozrjSJ1%2FSalesforce%20List%20View.gif?alt=media&amp;token=63ec055e-122d-468f-adfb-0ecf49ea4d60" alt=""><figcaption><p>Salesforce List View<br></p></figcaption></figure>
* **Select Fields** - Search and select individual fields for the object.\ <br>

  <figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FEq2n9Zn3k9boLoYytm82%2FSelect%20Fields.gif?alt=media&amp;token=483b479a-4ecf-48e6-9206-f9a2805e2604" alt=""><figcaption><p>Select Fields<br></p></figcaption></figure>
* **Skip Detail Layout** - The Snap opens with related lists only. A detail layout can be added later from the Details tab.<br>

  <figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FwSpjeVXVsrxy2QNowQsL%2FSkip%20Detail%20Layout.gif?alt=media&amp;token=23e03d20-bc61-4f9a-bc30-30db2836720d" alt=""><figcaption><p>Skip Detail Layout</p></figcaption></figure>

Select **Save Details** to apply your choice and continue to **Related Lists**. Selecting **Cancel** cancels everything and returns you to the Snap List.

{% hint style="info" %}

#### Note

Configure Detail Layout only appears when creating a new Snap, or when [editing](#editing-the-details-tab) a Snap that was saved with Skip Detail Layout. Snaps that already have a detail layout open straight to the Details tab.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Add Related Lists

The Related Lists tab starts empty. Related lists are the tabs in the left panel of the Related List tab. They let users see and work with child records (like Opportunities or Cases) without leaving the grid.

Select Add Related List, then for each row choose the related list and whether it should render as Custom or as a Valorx Grid.

<table><thead><tr><th width="139" valign="top">Option</th><th valign="top">Best for</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td valign="top">Custom</td><td valign="top">Building a lightweight, purpose: built field set for this related list.</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">Valorx Grid</td><td valign="top">Reusing an existing global grid already configured for this object.</td></tr></tbody></table>

Drag to reorder related lists. The order here is the tab order in the 360 Snap panel. Click Save when done.

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FgEPmR0fJ5punpmwUTtjj%2FAdd%20Related%20List%20latest.gif?alt=media&amp;token=1f4e9ffd-7087-4b14-8628-55376721b7bd" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" icon="info" %}
When using a Valorx Grid, the **Use Grid Filters** checkbox controls whether the grid's saved filters apply inside the 360 Snap. If unchecked, filter button will not available.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Assign the Snap to Your Grid

A saved snap does nothing until it is assigned to a grid or lookup field. Assign it in the Grid Wizard.

#### For the self (current) record — Grid Details (Step 1)

In the **360 Experience** section at the bottom of Grid Details, **check Open in 360 Snap** and click **Configure**. The 360 Snaps popup opens showing all snaps for this grid's object. **Select one** and **save**.

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FRWQRv2SPNtRaIzXmKler%2FAssign%20Snap%20Self%20Record.gif?alt=media&amp;token=0235c822-c164-40f1-baf4-a7c0ad72ad6a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" icon="info" %}
If no snap exists yet, click + New Snap directly from the 360 Snaps popup to create one without leaving the Grid Wizard.
{% endhint %}

#### For a lookup field — Fields Configuration (Step 2) - Optional

Open the Fields Configuration popup, find the lookup field, and click the 360 Snap button in the Actions column. The 360 Snaps popup opens showing all snaps for that lookup field's object. Select one — or create a new snap if none exists yet.

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FrWUxFZmmg7erWtVoXFnt%2FAssign%20Snap%20Lookup%20Record.gif?alt=media&amp;token=7be1ebe5-54a4-49da-ac9e-b19f5e5618e0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" icon="info" %}
Once a snap is assigned to a lookup field, the 360 Snap button shows a green checkmark. Assigning a snap is optional, only configure it for the lookup fields where a 360 Snap adds real value.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Set Permissions in Grid Controls

The 360 Snap section in Grid Controls lets you decide what Standard users can do inside the 360 Snap for this grid.

<table><thead><tr><th width="325" valign="top">Permission</th><th valign="top">What it controls</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td valign="top">Allow editing records</td><td valign="top">Users can edit header fields and related list data inside the 360 Snap.</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">Allow adding and removing related list</td><td valign="top">Users can add or remove related list tabs at runtime.</td></tr></tbody></table>

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2F3wL9RHHaBa4b0f0wSabK%2FLast%20Step%20Snap.gif?alt=media&amp;token=eacf397a-45f4-4844-bbf7-b6ced0a7c24a" alt=""><figcaption><p>Set Permission</p></figcaption></figure>
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

<h2 align="center">Using the 360 Snap</h2>

When a Designer has set up a 360 Snap for your grid, here's what you can do.

### Opening the 360 Snap

Click the row number / selection column icon to open the 360 Snap for that record.

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FFFZcCW35FlRtOy9z8EtV%2FOpen%20360%20Snap.gif?alt=media&amp;token=cfa60c6c-5e05-4c0d-bc46-efd414bc2a9e" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Click or hover a lookup chip (e.g. an Account name in a Contacts grid) to open the 360 Snap for that related record.

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FuTdQ9mChX2ZpHLYBHMvR%2FOpen%20360%20Snap%20Lookup.gif?alt=media&amp;token=225ebdcc-d196-43b7-88f9-8b0383b76eda" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Inside the 360 Snap

<table><thead><tr><th width="149" valign="top">Area</th><th valign="top">What's here</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td valign="top">Details</td><td valign="top">Key fields for the record</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">Related Lists</td><td valign="top">Tabs on the left, one per related list. Click a tab to view and work with those records on the right with the full grid toolbar available.</td></tr></tbody></table>

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FkaVhlLFgWPch5iyiCvGp%2FInside%20360%20Snap.gif?alt=media&amp;token=7f4057f9-9c22-4c3c-8409-acb7b8ab9efe" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Editing and Saving

* Edit the Details - Edit the text, number fields, and lookup fields directly.
* Work with related list records using the full grid toolbar (Filters, Group, Mass Modifier, and more).
* Click Save Changes in the title bar to save. A preview of all pending changes is shown before anything is committed.

<figure><img src="https://2237973035-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F65f4C4H8V5e0YV342mwp%2Fuploads%2FcrWu2qLq71GOeSabuJ2e%2FSnap%20Editing%20and%20Saving.gif?alt=media&amp;token=e7abc3e7-2bc5-49f8-a8a5-d61565f6c5e8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" icon="info" %}
What you can edit depends on the permissions your Designer has configured. If Save Changes is not available, editing is not enabled for this grid.
{% endhint %}

<h2 align="center">Managing Snaps in Wave Admin</h2>

Wave Admin → Settings → 360 Snap is where all snaps live. From here you can create, edit, duplicate, or delete any snap across your org, for any object.

<table><thead><tr><th width="129" valign="top">Action</th><th valign="top">What it does</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td valign="top">Edit</td><td valign="top">Edit the details and the related list of the object.</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">Duplicate</td><td valign="top">Copy a snap as a starting point for a new configuration. Gets a unique name automatically.</td></tr><tr><td valign="top">Delete</td><td valign="top">Remove the snap. If it is still assigned to a grid or matrix, a confirmation popup lists the affected components remove it from each one before deleting.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Editing the Details Tab

To make changes:

* Select Edit, then Add Element to open a panel with two categories:
  * **Fields** - Search and select from the object's fields.
  * **Design Elements** - Add a Label, Separator, or Section.
* Click **Preview** to view the layout.
* **Clear All** removes every field and design element from the Details tab and returns the Snap to its initial setup state.
