Enterprise Control

Understand exactly which controls are available in each product so you can configure the right permissions for your team.

Grid Enterprise Control

Grid Controls give Admins and Designers precise, grid-level authority over what Standard Users can see and do inside any grid. Rather than applying blanket restrictions across the entire application, Grid Controls let you tailor the experience per grid so different teams, workflows, or data objects can each have exactly the right level of access.

Who Can Configure Grid Controls

Grid Controls can be set by Admins and Designers. Standard Users cannot access this screen

Section-by-Section Breakdown

The following sections explain each group of controls in detail, with notes on any differences between Wave Embedded and Wave Extension.

Grid Control

Toolbar

Each toolbar item has two independent controls: a permission checkbox that governs whether Standard Users can interact with that feature, and a display mode selector that controls how the button appears in the toolbar.

Display Mode

Each toolbar item (except Sort and Layout) supports three display states:

Wave Embedded
Wave Extension

Hidden (eye icon)

The button is not shown in the toolbar at all.

Icon only

The button shows as an icon with no text label.

Icon + Label

The button shows the icon alongside its text label.

Allow Creating Custom Grids

When ON, Standard Users can create their own personal Custom Grids from a Global Grid. Their copy does not affect the Global Grid or any other user.

Allow Sharing Custom Grids with All Users

When ON, Standard Users can share their Custom Grids with the rest of the organization. This option only appears when Allow Creating Custom Grids is also enabled.

Make Grid Read-Only (Wave Embedded only)

Prevents standard users from making any changes to the grid, they can only view it. No editing, filtering, sorting, or layout changes are possible.

Enabling Read-Only automatically unchecks Allow Creating Custom Grids. Any Personal Grids or Custom Grids that standard users had already created from this Global Grid are permanently deleted as a result.
