Browser Extension Settings
Manage who can see and do what across your Valorx Wave Browser Extension environment.
Overview
The Settings screen in Valorx Wave is organized to give you full control over your account, users, and application behavior. This document covers everything related to Grid Security and Access including how to manage user accounts, control what each role can do, and configure feature permissions.
How to Access Settings
Click the User Profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen, then select Settings from the dropdown menu.

What's Covered in This Guide
This guide walks you through the following sections of the Settings screen:
View and manage your account details and Salesforce org info
See all Salesforce orgs connected to your account
Purchase and manage Wave subscriptions (Admin only)
Assign licenses and manage user roles
Set default grid behavior and feature permissions for Standard Users
Monitor system health, refresh metadata, and view logs
Move grids between orgs (Admin/Designer only)
User Roles at a Glance
Valorx Wave has three user roles. Understanding each role is key to managing access effectively.
Admin
The first person to install Valorx Wave and connect a Salesforce Org automatically becomes an Admin User with a Free subscription.
Admins can:
Purchase or upgrade subscriptions
Invite and manage team members
Assign or revoke Wave Pro and Matrix Add-On licenses
Promote users to Admin or Designer, or demote them to Standard User
Activate or deactivate users
Designer
Designers have nearly the same capabilities as Admins, with two key exceptions:
Cannot purchase or upgrade licenses
Cannot assign or change roles for other users
Designers have full access for everything else like creating grids, configuring settings, managing migrations.
Standard User
Standard Users have limited access and are focused on using Valorx Wave day-to-day, not managing it.
Standard Users can:
View account details and license information
Refresh metadata, clear storage, and set per-page record count
View system logs
Standard Users cannot purchase or assign licenses. Only Admins can do that.

General
The General section provides an overview of the user's basic information and Salesforce organization details. It is divided into two parts:
Account Details
Name — Your display name
Email ID — Your account email
Company Name — Your organization name
Salesforce Org Details
Salesforce Username — Your Salesforce username
Org Name — The name of your connected Salesforce org
Org Type — Production, Sandbox, etc.
Org ID — Your unique Salesforce org identifier
Role — Your Wave role for this org (Admin, Designer, or Standard)

Free vs. Pro License
Users on a Free license will see a 'Your Usage' section showing monthly limits for Imports, Exports, and Record Updates. Pro license users have unlimited usage.
Environment
The Environment section shows all Salesforce orgs connected to your Valorx Wave account. This is useful if you work across multiple environments (e.g., a production org and a sandbox).
What You'll See
For each connected org, the table displays:
Name — The org's display name
Org ID — The unique Salesforce identifier
Org Type — Production or Sandbox
License Enabled — Whether a Pro license is active for this org
Status — Active or inactive
Modified — When the org connection was last updated

Subscription
Admin Only
Only Admin can access and make changes in the Subscription section. Designers and Standard Users should contact their Admin to make subscription changes.
The Subscription section is where you manage your Valorx Wave plans including viewing your current subscriptions, buying more licenses, and managing billing.
Subscription
The Subscription section shows a table listing every product your organization has (or had), with the following columns:

Product
The subscription product name — Wave Free, Wave Pro, or Wave Pro + Add On
Status
Whether the subscription is currently ACTIVE or EXPIRED
Available
The number of licenses purchased that have not yet been assigned to a user
Assigned
The number of licenses that have been assigned to users in your org
Start Date
The date your subscription started (shown as a dash for the Free plan)
End Date
The date your subscription expires (shown as a dash for the Free plan)
Action
Options to buy more licenses or contact sales, depending on the product (see below)
The Three Subscription Products
Your subscription table will show one or more of the following products:
Wave Free
The default plan when you first connect a Salesforce Org. Includes usage limits on imports, exports, and record updates.
Wave Pro
Paid plan with unlimited usage. Purchased per seat.
Wave Pro + Add On
Wave Pro plus the Matrix Add-On. Purchased separately on top of a Pro subscription.
Billing Details
Below the subscription table, the Billing Details section shows the Billing Email address where invoices and billing notifications are sent. Admins can update this email at any time.
The Upgrade Button — Free Plan Only
Once your organization has an active Wave Pro subscription, the Upgrade button is no longer shown. Pro subscribers use the Buy Licenses action in the subscription table instead.
If you are an Admin on the Free plan, you will see an Upgrade button in two places:
Home screen — Next to your User Profile section in the top-right area

Upgrade button in Home Subscription section in Settings — Directly on the subscription overview page

Upgrade button in Settings
How to Upgrade to Wave Pro (Free Plan Admins Only)
Click the Upgrade button.
On the Wave Subscription Plans screen, compare Free and Pro features. Hover over any feature to learn more about what is included.
Click Buy Now on the Pro plan.
On the Payment Details screen, fill in: Billing Period (Yearly by default), number of Paid Seats, Work Email, and Card Details.
Click Review Order. Once payment is complete, Pro features are activated immediately

How to Buy More Licenses (Wave Pro)
If your organization already has an active Wave Pro subscription and you need more seats:
Go to Subscription > Overview.
In the Wave Pro row, click Buy Licenses in the Action column.
Enter the number of additional seats.
Complete the payment.

How to Buy Matrix Add-On Licenses
To add Matrix Add-On licenses to your Pro subscription:
Go to Subscription > Overview.
In the Wave Pro + Add On row, click Contact Sales in the Action column.
Choose the product and enter the number of licenses needed.
Click Submit.

When Will You Be Prompted to Upgrade?
If you are on the Free plan and hit your monthly data update limit, a pop-up will appear with an Upgrade link.
Standard Users will see: "Please contact Admin to upgrade the license." An email is automatically sent to the org's Admin.
Admins will be taken directly to the Subscription screen to complete the upgrade.

Matrix Add-On Trial Expiry
If you're using the Matrix Add-On and the trial period ends:
Access to Matrix functionality will be disabled.
A Contact Sales button will appear, allowing Admin users to initiate the purchase process.
Additionally, Admins can navigate to the Subscription section under the Matrix Add-On to find a Buy Now option for purchasing licenses.

Licenses
The Licenses section gives you a full view of all users in your organization. Their subscription type, role, and access level. As an Admin, this is also where you invite new users and manage their access.

User Roles: Admin User & Standard User
Valorx Wave has two user roles: Admin User and Standard User.
The Licenses Table

For each user, you'll see:

Username (Salesforce email)
Subscription — Free, Pro, or Matrix Add-On

Inviting & Assigning Users
How you add a user depends on your subscription:
If you're on Wave Pro:
To assign Wave Pro access: Click Assign Licenses under the Wave section, select the user(s), and click Assign.
To assign Matrix Add-On access: Click Assign Licenses under the Matrix section, select the user(s), and click Assign.
If you're on the Free plan:
Click Invite, select the user from the pop-up, and click Invite.
Note: Matrix Add-On is not available on the Free plan.
Once invited, the user receives an email with a link to download the Valorx Wave browser extension. After installing it, they can log in and connect their Salesforce Org.
To add a team member (user) to Valorx Wave, follow these steps:

For Free Plan:
Click Invite to invite users (Wave only — Matrix Add-On is not available on the Free plan).
In the pop-up, select the user you want to invite.
Click Invite.

Managing User Access
As an Admin, you can take the following actions from the Action column for any user:
Promote or demote — Upgrade a user to Admin/Designer, or set them back to Standard User
Activate or deactivate — Enable or disable a user's access without removing them
Assign or revoke license — Grant or remove a Wave Pro or Matrix Add-On license

Use the Filter icon at the top-right of the table to search for specific users by name or role.

Troubleshooting
The Troubleshooting section helps you monitor your Wave environment and resolve issues quickly.

System Status
Wave Extension Version — Shows your currently installed extension version
Org Connection — Confirms whether you're actively connected to Salesforce
Last Metadata Refresh — Shows when Salesforce objects and fields were last synced
Actions
Refresh Metadata — Manually syncs the latest objects and fields from Salesforce. Use this if you've added new fields in Salesforce and they're not appearing in Wave.
Clear Storage — Clears the extension cache and local database. Use this to resolve performance issues or unexpected behavior.
Logs
The Logs tab captures background activity and error messages. Use it to:
Monitor system behavior over time
Diagnose unexpected issues
Provide diagnostic information to Valorx Support
You can filter logs by type: All, Info, Trace, Debug, Warning, Error, and Fatal.
Migration
Admin & Designer Only
Migration is available to Admins and Designers only. It is included in Standard and Pro subscriptions as a paid add-on.
The Migration feature lets you move grids from one Salesforce org to another. This is ideal for keeping environments in sync or transitioning to a new org.
To perform a migration, follow these steps:
Select the Source org from where the grid/matrix will be migrated.
Choose the Target org to which the grid/matrix will be transferred.
Initiate the migration process, ensuring all grid/matrix data is moved accordingly.
Notes: At least one item must be selected to initiate the migration process.

Backup & Restore
The Backup and Restore feature allows you to easily back up your Grids, Matrices, and their complete settings, so you can bring them back exactly as you left them across orgs or whenever you need them again. Find out more about it here.
