Valorx Wave Embedded is a productivity enhancement tool for Salesforce. It is available as an embedded version for Salesforce. Below are the guidelines to complete its essential processes, such as installation, and role & permission.
Quick Links:
Open AppExchange and search for Valorx Wave. (If you’re not logged in, log in and ensure your org is connected to your trailblazer.me account.)
You can install the Valorx Wave Managed Package from AppExchange.
The Valorx Wave App details will be displayed on the screen. Click on Get It Now.
The 'Package Install' pop-up will open. Select which environment to install the app in. It is preferable to select the 'Install in Production' option.
The Sandbox environment is preferred by developers for testing purposes.
Verify that you agree with the terms and conditions and other permission requests. Once finished, click on Confirm and Install.
You’ll be redirected to sign in to your org.
Now select who the app should be installed for – Admins Only, All Users, or Custom. It is advisable to select the 'Install for All Users' option. Then, click Install.
Usage Profiles:
Install for Admins Only: This option installs the app for the installing admin’s profile only.
Install for All Users: This option installs the app for all users in your org. Most organizations grant access to all users.
Install for Specific Profiles: This option installs the app for specific profiles that you select. You can select which profiles to install the app for.
Give it a moment while the installation gets finished.
After the installation is complete, click Done.
The Valorx Wave has been successfully installed and will be visible on your list of Installed Packages.
After completing the installation, open the App Launcher, search for the Valorx Wave app, and click on it.
Now you're ready to create your own custom Lightning Apps with Wave Embedded.
Access User Object:
Navigate to Salesforce Setup.
Click on Object Manager.
Select User object.
Add Valorx Wave User Access Field:
Go to User Page Layouts.
In the field section, drag the Valorx Wave User Access field into the Additional Information section.
The section will be highlighted in green once the field is placed correctly.
Click on Save to add this field.
This configuration process is a one-time task that needs to be completed by the admin for this installation.
Designer: Can manage grids and assign licenses to standard users.
Standard User: Can access grids assigned by designers.
The Roles and Permissions process needs to be completed each time a new user is added.
Individual User Assignment.
From Setup, enter Users in the Quick Find box and select Users.
On the All Users page, find and select the desired user.
Click Edit to make changes to the user’s details.
Scroll to Valorx Fields
Under "Valorx Wave User Access," assign the appropriate role to the user by selecting either Designer or Standard.
Once the role is selected, click Save to apply the changes.
A permission set is a collection of settings and permissions that give users access to various tools and functions. Permission sets extend users’ functional access without changing their profiles and are the recommended way to manage your users’ permissions. Click here to know more.
From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter user. Select Users.
On All Users, select your preferred user. Click the preferred user profile's "Full Name".
Scroll down to "Permission Set Assignments". Click "Edit Assignment".
Enable the Grid Design Studio User option by adding "Valorx Grid Studio User" to the "Enable Permission Sets" area. Then, click "Save".
From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Permission Sets , and then select Permission Sets.
On Permission Sets, click "Valorx Grid Design Studio User".
On Valorx Grid Design Studio User, click "Manage Assignments".
Then, click on "Add Assignment".
From the "List Views", select the user you want to assign.
Select the user and click "Next".
Select an expiration option for the assigned users and click "Assign". The permission set has now been assigned to the user.
