You need to open a Salesforce View in Wave to process it. Please follow the instructions below to open a Salesforce Object or View in Wave.
Click on any of the Object tabs (Account, Opportunity, Lead, Contact, Case, Campaign, etc.) to see the list of all available Views of the Object. When you select an Object tab:
The Recent Views column will show the list of recently created or opened views.
The Views column will show the list of all available views for the selected Object.
Click on the View name to open it in the Wave Views screen.
The View will open in the Wave Views screen, as shown in the image below.
Creating a new View will enable you to view a specific segment of records for an Object.
For example, you can create a new View to see all leads with an attachment, or if you want to see opportunities related to the chemical industry with the Pending approval status only, creating a new View would make it possible.
When you create a new View, it becomes a Custom View. Please follow the instructions below to create a new View.
To create a new View, please select the appropriate Object tab first. For example, if you want to create a new view from the Lead object, ensure you click on the Lead button before you click on Add New.
The Object Fields pop-up screen will open when you click the 'Add New' button.
Please scroll down the list of all fields and check the respective checkboxes to select the fields you wish to include in a new custom view.
The screen will show you appropriate links such as Fields and Values where applicable. You can further drill down your selection using them. For example, in the image above, you have selected the Last Modified By field. You can click on Fields and select the names of specific fields, too.
Please note:
The fields you select here will be your record (data) columns in the Views screen.
You can also use:
The Search Fields search box to search the desired fields from the options.
The DataType dropdown to search the desired fields based on the type of data.
For example, if you select Date from the DataType dropdown, the Fields pop-up screen will show only those fields that include the Date DataType. You can select the desired fields from them.
Click OK.
The View Name pop-up screen will appear with a default name for the new View. If required, please change it and give some friendly name, i.e., Important Leads. You can also add the description (optional).
Click Save.
The new View will be created and opened in the Views screen.
Valorx Wave will denote this new View with the Custom View icon.
You can access the User Profile by clicking its icon on the top-right in the Title Bar.
It includes:
Account information such as your Product Plan (Free/Standard/Pro), Username, and Email.
Settings and Log Out buttons.
1. Why do I need to create a Custom View?
Answer:
Creating a new View will enable you to see a specific segment of records for an Object based upon your current needs. For example:
You want to see opportunities related to the chemical industry with the Pending approval status and then create area-wise Groups to analyze the market behavior, and your team's response to it.
You can create a new View to see all leads with an attachment because attachments will give you a better idea to decide your next action.
